RED LIGHT THERAPY

RED LIGHT THERAPY

Our medical grade full-body red light therapy panel emits a combination of science-backed red and near-infrared wavelengths - 630nm, 660nm, 810nm, 830nm and 850nm - and zero EMF as we prioritise your health and safety.

Unlike other panels, ours uses dual-lens, zero flicker technology for a smooth, even spread of wavelengths and features powerful irradiance - as well as optional pulsing mode which has been shown to accelerate muscle recovery.

Light as therapy has been used for centuries, with early discoveries showing that sunlight could be split into varying wavelengths, each with varying behaviours and its first use in medicine recorded in the late 1800s in the form of sunlight and concentrated light radiation. By the 1900s, sunlight and red light was recognised for its role in Vitamin D production and wound healing in the human body.

Modern research (especially since 2008) has shown that red and near-infrared light can improve skin health, mitochondrial function, sleep quality, muscle and tissue repair, and reduce inflammation in joints, tendons and ligaments.  Specifically:

  • Red light has been shown to support skin, hair and cellular health.
  • Near-infrared light targets deeper tissues, aiding muscles, joints, mood and cognitive function.

Red and near-infrared light applied in combination over larger body areas can also support systemic recovery and overall performance. Research continues to evolve and the key benefits of each wavelength used in our RLT panel are summarised below.

the researched benefits by wavelength

1. Red Light

(Surface-Level & Cellular Benefits)

630 nm

  • Very bioactive for mitochondria
  • Boosts collagen and skin elasticity
  • Supports wound healing and scar reduction
  • Helps stimulate hair growth

660 nm

  • Most researched red wavelength
  • Improves wrinkles, acne and overall skin quality
  • Supports hair regrowth in androgenic alopecia
  • Helps reduce superficial pain and inflammation
  • Supports surface-level targets (skin, gums, wounds)

2. Near-Infrared Light

(Deep-Tissue & Brain Benefits)

810 nm

  • Strong penetration, reaching nerves and brain tissue
  • Cognitive support, mood and neuroprotection
  • Assists deep muscle recovery and performance

830 nm

  • Effective for joints, tendons and ligaments
  • Aids post-surgery healing and deeper tissue repair

850 nm

  • Common in high-quality panels for muscle, joint benefits
  • Deeper pain relief in hips, knees, back and shoulders
  • Supports systemic recovery and circulation
  • Can enhance exercise performance

Safe, Powerful and sourced for you

We have made sure to source a panel that combines all these science-backed wavelengths so you get both surface and deep-tissue effects in one session.

Dual-lens LEDs mean you get an even spread of wavelengths on the surface area of your body, essentially doubling the power of a single-lens device.

Irradiance is also a key factor, and it is recommended that the device output measures over 70mw/cm2 when tested with a LED Light Spectrometer at 6” from the device. This ensures you are getting maximum benefit within the recommended timeframe of exposure.

Your safety and comfort is a priority so we also made sure to choose a panel with zero EMF and zero flicker.

Enhance Any Wellness Routine

You can enjoy RLT before or after a Sauna/Cold Plunge and/or Normatec Lounge session, or as a stand-alone therapy. Use of the panel is subject to availability - this is non-bookable and best used when you are completely dry with little/no product or lotions on the skin’s surface. Protective glasses are provided for your comfort.

10 minutes: $15

20 minutes: $25

30 minutes: $30

How Often Should You Use Red Light Therapy?

How often you should use RLT depends on your goals, health status and light tolerance. As a general guide, aim for 15–60 J/cm² per day — about 3–5 minutes for superficial benefits and 13–15 minutes for deeper tissue effects with our device.

Start with 2–3 sessions per week and adjust as needed.

Skin & hair: ~10 minutes total (5 minutes each side)

Deep tissue, inflammation & recovery: 20–30 minutes total (10–15 minutes each side)
